Hi! Thank you for stopping by My LVS Online Homework pages. Please note that my pages are graphic intensive and may take a while to load. The pages for the first classes I took will take longer as I did not know then about compressing graphic images. But, I have included those pages as I documented what I did, and often how I did it, on those pages. I still refer back to the pages when I am trying to remember something that I did in the classes. I was fortunate to be in the first of the Filter Frenzy classes offered at LVS Online. The instructors, Sally Beacham (aka 'Diz') and Sonja Shea (aka 'Bonesy') really pulled together a tremendous amount of information and different filters for this class.

More plugins and filters and more fun with Sally Beacham and Sonja Shea! During the process, my filters got organized and I learned a lot about presets and how to make them! What more could I want, except more filters and more plugins! :o)

For some time I have wanted to be able to have my own web site. At first it was going to be for photos of my yellow Lab, Sioux. Then it was going to be for my Mavica digital photos. And, finally, it was to incorporate my PSP work with everything else. This class gave me the foundation to get started.

The HTML 2 class was a continuation of the HTML 1 class. Unfortunately, I only completed the first two weeks of the class due to other commitments and the lack of a readiness level on my part. I've included the index page here, however, as the first two weeks do provide me with information on what, and how, we completed those lessons. Just don't bother to click on weeks three through six as you will only get a file 404 error message.

This was my first PSP class at LVS. There was a lot of work, but I learned so much more than I had learned by just being in different groups working on the tutorials provided or assigned.

Following the completion of Filter Frenzy 1 and 2 it was decided that there were still enough filters, and certainly enough interest, to have a Filter Frenzy 3 class. The instructors are, once again, Sally Beachman and Sonja Shea!

I was not able to fit this class in my schdule when it was first offered, but was happy to see it offered for a second time. I had done Ron's cartoon cat tutorial a while ago and knew then that it was a lot of fun. What a fun way to learn all about the vector tools! And, in addition to Ron Lacey, the instructor, this class also has Sonja Shea ('Bonesy') as the assistant. Imagine, two classes at the same time with Bonesy! What fun!

The first Cartooning with Vectors class was so much fun and I learned so much, too! Signing up for the second class was a 'no brainer'! In this class we have the same instructors - Ron Lacey and Sonja Shea (aka'Bonesy'), and more fun learning how to make cartoon images.

This is the advanced vectors class which I've also taken as a refresher course. My goal is to spend more time in actually working with the vectors after reviewing the information. I want those tutorials that I write using vectors to be showing the correct ways to use the tools. Class taken Spring, 2002.

An introduction to digital painting. This class covers many primary painting learnings: perspective, lines, shapes, etc.; tones shading, shadow, etc.; deciding what makes a good painting, lighting, patterns, etc.; colors and what they mean to painting; and, composition. Instructor: Hillary Sadur. Class taken November, 2004.

A continuing introduction to PS Elements. The lessons get deeper in Elements' palettes, menus, and tools. Also, preferences, libraries and presets plus saving, printing and sharing work. Instructor: Janee Aronoff. Class taken January, 2005.

This is the same class taken in November, 2004. It provided me an opportunity to get more practice in sketching and digital painting, and to complete each of the lessons covering the various painting learnings: perspective, lines, shapes, etc.; tones shading, shadow, etc.; deciding what makes a good painting, lighting, patterns, etc.; colors and what they mean to painting; and, composition. The course covers: Getting Around the Interface; Getting Started Fast!; Using the Interface; Paper Color; Resolution; Brush Tracking and Brush Control; Exploring Brushes and Mediums; Making Selections; Moving Pixels; Layers Palette and Review. The is a new LVS digital arts class. It includes: Perspective, with emphasis on multiple vanishing points; Forms and Shapes; Colors and their importance; Clouds and Water; Composition and Lighting Effects; Tips and Techniques. Instructors: Hillary Sadur and Karen Bonaker. Class taken March, 2005.

This is a repeat of the LVS class in Painter, including Painter IX. The course covers: Getting Around the Interface; Getting Started Fast!; Using the Interface; Paper Color; Resolution; Brush Tracking and Brush Control; Exploring Brushes and Mediums; Making Selections; Moving Pixels; Layers Palette and Review. This is a repeat of the intermediate LVS digital arts class. This is a new class offering where students will practice digital painting in a studio type environment. Rather than formal weekly lessons there will be painting themes, mini tutorials, as well as suggestions from students. Class taken September, 2005. Painter Brushes is a new LVS class first introduced in September, 2005. The lessons cover the use of the numerous brushes as well as provide an opportunity to produce paintings using the brushes and techniques covered. Class taken September, 2005. Instructors: Karen Bonaker assisted by Hillary Sadur and Maire Cronk.

This is a new class offering where students will practice digital painting in a studio type environment. Rather than formal weekly lessons there will be painting themes, mini tutorials, as well as suggestions from students. Class taken January, 2006. This is a new class which teaches Painter Watercolor techniques including creating watercolor paintings from photos, printing guidelines and advanced print techniques. Class taken March, 2006. Instructor: Karen Bonaker.

This is not a traditional class but a studio for those who have taken Digital Art and Beyond the Basics. Rather than weekly lessons a theme is introduced and studio members paint something representing the theme. Class taken May, 2006. Instructor: Hillary Sadur.

This class introduces the new Auto-Painting Palettes along with the other features included in this new version of Painter. Class taken May, 2006. Instructor: Karen Bonaker.
