Week3


Adjustment Layers

We started the week learning how to color correct and enhance photos using Adjustment Layers. The first image, 'Thank You', was provided. The second photo was washed out, but corrected with the Adjustment Layers.

Next we really started experimenting with the various Adjustment Layers. We started with a beautiful dahalia photo and made a collage of some of the Adjustment Layers.

I then used one of my duck photos to make a series of Layer Adjusted images, including the addition of a PSP Effect on one of the Adjustment Layers.

The last photo with Adjustment Layers also shows the effect achieved with a copy of the background layer placed on top of the stack and the Difference blend mode applied. The various Adjustment Layers and the settings are shown in the Layer Palette.

The final part of the lesson had us using a photo to create an image which can be turned into a Picture Tube or a custom brush. The process used the Threshold Adjustment Layer. I created three snowflakes, with the last two being created from the same image.
