| Camera used: Sony Mavica FD-73. Flash used with fine setting; auto focus, etc. Photo taken in 2000 at the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, PA in a glasshouse room. This is one of my favorite florals as I like the vibrant color in the orchid and the somewhat blurred background of green. I also like the angle of the orchid cutting through the photo. | |
| Camera used: Sony Mavica CD-300. Settings included: outdoor, fine, and auto focus, etc. Photo taken in April, 2002 in Medina, Ohio where I was visiting. This was the scene that greeted me in the morning. I got my camera, opened the window and took the shot. I like the reflections caused by the sun, the larger dark trees on the left with the branches flowing to the right leading the eye to the larger, but distant trees on the mid-upper right. I did feather the edges of the photo to have it blend with the white background. | |
| Camera used: Sony Mavica CD-300. Settings included: indoor, fine, and auto focus, etc. Photo taken in May 22, 2002 in Pittsburgh, PA outside my office door. I had been down at the pond behind my office shooting this duck and her three ducklings a little earlier. I happened to open my front door and saw this mama and her ducklings, and others, parading by so ran back and grabbed the camera. I did not realize until later that I'd forgotten when I first started shooting earlier that I still had the camera set to 'indoor'. But, I actually like the softness of this photo as well as the play of the shadows. While the third duckling, a black, is not showing as he was on the other side of the duck, I thought the two little yellow ducklings trailing behind, and the mama with her mouth open, made a nice shot. I did crop this photo as there was just more sidewalk to the left. | |
| Camera used: Sony Mavica CD-300. Settings included: indoor, fine, and auto focus, etc. Photo taken in May 21, 2002. This is Choctaw, who was 9 weeks old here. I was working at my computer and heard him get in his crate behind me. When I turned to see him I grabbed the camera - and woke him up by shooting the picture before this. I like this shot because of the close up and the solid blue background provided by the crate. I could do without the door, but also know that I could crop that part out if necessary. |
