This started out as a pencil sketch on a light blue background. Unfortunately I didn't save the sketch but went on to use various colors for my pencil to create the image shown. I enjoyed creating this and plan on doing more in the future, both of Choctaw and his predecessors. After completing the painting I changed the background color and did some painting with the airbrush and then applied a Gaussian blur - I think. |

After working on various exercises throughout the lesson we then created a collage applying some of those techniques. In the upper left are two leaf objects from the Image Portfolio. I Rotated them, Sharpened them and applied a Drop Shadow. To the right is the original pencil sketch and drawing of Choctaw on the blue background. In the lower left is another sketch created to practice various brush methods, including Drip. The sketch in the lower right was created for the Beyond the Basics class. I decided to complete the collage with it. ![]() |

There was certainly a lot in this lesson - but all great to know! I know I'll be referring back to this one in the future. Thank you, Karen, for all your hard work in putting this together. |
