Getting to know the Watercolor Layers; Watercolor exercises
|
|
Our first assignment was to explore all the Watercolor Brush Variants and to create a sampler using each of the Variants. We were also to Wet Entire Watercolor Layer and then Dry Watercolor Layer. I was having so much fun playing with the Variants that I can't remember if I did this step. I'll just have to play with it again. ![]() |

Next we painted a landscape either using the sketch provided or by creating the sketch ourselves. I did my own sketch and tried to make it like the sample so I could follow along with the instructions in the lesson. In retrospect I would like to see what some of the bushes and trees look like by making a selection around them and applying some texture. ![]() |

Based on the feedback I received I made some changes to the original fall landscape painting. I've posted it here for comparison to the original. ![]() |

I'm glad you've developed this class devoted to watercolor painting, Karen. I hope you'll do the same with some of the other Brushes, like Oils, Acrylics, etc. It's nice to be able to get into them in more depth, especially for those like me who don't have actual painting experience. |
