To start exploring the Text tool we selected our font, color. Anti-alias, and then typed our name. Font used: Scrap Calligraphy, a nice font to use on digital scrapbook layouts. A quick search should take you right to the site where the font is sold at a very reasonable price. |
| Next we learned how to Warp text. This was really easy as it didn't require working with Bezier lines or other vector drawn lines. Font used: Scrap Cursive, also available at the site mentioned above. | ![]() |

Here we learned how to add Layer Styles to add dimension to text. Two Layer Styles were used: 1) BSeen-Rust Pack, Rust 05 followed by 2) Bevels, simple Sharp Inner. Font used: KABlokHead. I've had the font for some time and can no longer find it listed via a search. |
| For the last text example we learned how to apply Effects, in this case the one that would create a gold tone. After applying the text, Effects>Textures>Gold Sprinkles then Layers Grouped. Next, Layer Styles>Bevels>Simple Sharp Inner followed by Layer Styles>Drop Shadows>Low. Font used: Scriptina, a free font. | ![]() |

For the last example we created a montage with our own photos and text. I used two photos of my Chocolate Lab, Choctaw. I added some paw prints using the Animal Tracks font and then applied a Layer Style followed by some of Elements' built in Text Effects, a bevel and a drop shadow. I applied a different stone Layer Style to his name and a Drop Shadow to the black and white photo. I added my name and the year of the main photo then lowered the opacity on the layer. |

I'm glad to learn how to work with text in Elements. It's quite different from working with Vector text in PSP. |
