Putting It All Together

|
This week we added the Stamp Tool to enhance our photos to replace distracting or unwanted portions of the image. I used the same photo for two different versions. ![]() For my first version I eliminated the telephone lines and the guard rail. In Underpainting I used Style Saturate and then Jagged Edge. I also added some flowers in the dirt area as they hadn't been planted when the photo was shot. To finish it I applied a paper texture. ![]() For my second version I first cropped the photo to make the tree and picnic table the primary subject. Then I eliminated the telephone lines, the guard rail and some of the tree branches in the top middle. I also added some clouds as well as grass where there had been dirt and filled in the foliage above the grass. In Underpainting I used Style Saturate and then Jagged Edge. To finish it I applied the fine dots paper texture at a low setting. ![]() |

My next painting I used a photo of one of my favorite subjects, when I can get him to slow down. Choctaw was about six months old when this was taken. ![]() I started by eliminating his lead and chain collar and then filled in the path area which separates the two lakes. I also cleaned up some of the branches near the main tree. In Underpainting I used Style Saturate and then Jagged Edge. I then applied the Italian Watercolor paper. The painting was done with Digital Watercolor brush variants. ![]() |
