Digital Art, Week 2

Beginning our drawing: Tones, Shading, Shadow, Highlight, Reflection and Texture

Since I'd painted an apple last week, I tried to paint a fruil bowl with some fruit. Here's the sketch I made first. Next time I'd make the bowl shorter and wider to make the fruit the main focus of the sketch/painting.

I did this in Painter 8 though I really didn't have enough familiarity with it. My bowl is lopsided but I didn't know how to correct that. I also didn't know how to work with the layers in Painter to add the background at the end so ended up with the white space around the image. I think until I learn Painter I'll work in PSP 9 for now.
