Introduction to Perspective, Lines, Shapes, Forms. Tips on beginning. |

I started by working on perspective and then did a sketch to paint. The perspectives are based on those shown in the lesson. Here's the first vanishing point sketch - with ruler and T-square used: |

Here's the second, where I also used the ruler: |

Here's the last, where I used the ruler on the first three and sketched by hand the one on the right. I guess I didn't need to mention that as it's clear I need more work without the ruler: |

I then sketched a vase and some flowers to paint. |

The painting took on a life of its own after I got the vase and the basic flowers started. I had a hard time deciding on colors, especially since I wasn't painting any particular kind of flower. I'd like to learn how to paint realistic flowers, though. |

I'm glad to be back, Hillary. Perhaps this time I'll be able to spend more time working on the lessons. I'm going to try as I want to be ready to move on to that next class! |
