In memory of those who lost their lives....
Designing Digital Scrapbook Components Title

Background papers, Geometric Patterns, Stripes, Plaids and Seamless Patterns (Continued)

To continue with my fall colors theme I created two more backgrounds incorporating all of the colors used in my first three sets. To make the backgrounds I started with my lighter leaf background. Then I added a layer, selected a color and a paint brush and randomly painted. Then I added another layer and with a different paint brush and color did some more painting. I varied the opacity and density of the brushes as well. Sometimes I also added Texture in the Materials box. After finishing the one on the left, which I really like, I decided to add a layer beneath the top layer and use a leaf brush I'd made with a warmer rust color as I wanted it to have a warmer look with the layout I made.

Multi Fall Colors Background

For the layout below I started with the multi color background. I used the Warp Brush on my plaid ribbon and added texture to it as well as to the striped bands. I made the frame from the leaf materials background. I used the leaf brush background with the opacity lowered for the parchment vellum. The copper letters are from one of the alphabet sets I made a few months ago. And, last but not least, the tree I made either from a font or a brush and used Dreamsuite 1 Liquid Metal. For this layout I colorized it so it would fit in with the theme. Oh, and the star of the layout is Choctaw, my 2 year old Lab. He was about seven months in this photo. He's quite a bit bigger now at 120 pounds.

Choctaw Layout

Thanks again, Sally and Lori for a fun lesson.
