Paint A Bridge
|
|
A structure, including supports, erected over a depression or an obstruction, such as water, a highway, or a railway, and having a track or passageway for carrying traffic or other moving loads and having a length measured along the center of roadway of more than 10 feet (3.048 m) between undercopings of abutments or extreme limits of openings for multiple boxes. OK, paint a bridge! Pittsburgh and the area is full of bridges. There are close to sixty on the Three Rivers in Allegheny County alone. In addition, the area is also known for it's covered bridges. Each fall the Covered Bridge festival is held. People get the numbered maps of the bridges and go from bridge to bridge. There are crafts and other booths at each of the bridges. I've not been to the festival but have seen many of the bridges. I decided to paint a covered bridge. This area is very green due to all of the rain we get here. We are second behind Seattle. Therefore, I decided to create a spring scene for my bridge. The painting is done in Painter IX.5 using Digital Watercolor brush variants. ![]() |
