In memory of those who lost their lives....

Colors And Their Importance

The first painting I did was based on a photo. The lone park bench in this original appealed to me though I thought the scene was a bit overcast. spacer image

This is my version of the scene in the photo. I'm still experimenting with different brushes in Painter. I would prefer the bench in a different color, but I did the entire painting on one layer and did not want to start over. Instead I went back and added a layer and used a reddish color pencil to go over the bench.

I worked on the above painting again after receiving feeback. This time I used the new Wacom 6D art brush, which arrived yesterday, for the grass.

We also worked on sketching a nude based on the sketch in the lesson. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this but think it turned out ok.

Napping Nude

This was all I was able to get done this week, but need to get on with working on the week 6 lesson. Once again, thank you for this comprehensive lesson.
