Clouds and Water; Bringing Sky Colors Into Water; Different Cloud Formations; Different Types of Water
|

Once again you'll see that I did not get all the way through the lesson. I did not have time to get into the water scene and cloud exercises, and those are the types of scenes I'd like to be able to do. The closest I've come this week to water and clouds is to re-work my bridge scene based on feedback, including the image, from Hillary which was very helpful. I couldn't get the burn and dogde tools to do what I wanted in PSP 9 or Painter so added to the effect by adding some additional paint. Here's what the image now looks like: ![]() |

For the first exercise in the lesson I tried to paint using my left hand. I did the basics for an apple using my left hand and then did the rest with my right hand. ![]() |

Next I tried doing a quick sketch of Choctaw on a gray background. ![]() |

| First I tried to paint the sketch using Digital Watercolor brushes as I've not really worked with them before. I don't like the fuzziness outside the sketch lines, but don't know what to do about that. | ![]() |

Next I tried painting the sketch using Pencils, Chalk and Blender - Just Add Water brushes. I like the result better than the first. |

| Here I sketched a fish and painted it in unusual colors using Crayon brushes in Painter IX. I then used the Blender - Just Add Water brush. The grasses are also done in crayon. | ![]() |

The next, and last painting this week, is one I did in the Painter class. Based on Karen's feedback I made some changes to the painting and am posting it here. The painting is done on one layer, gray background, using Painter IX Artists Oils. I think I'll continue working on multiple layers for awhile. ![]() |

Oh, just one more. This is what I did with Hillary's painting. I worked in PSP 9 and used the Digital Camera Noise Removal tool first. Then I used a plugin for the color which I then adjusted in PSP 9 using the H/S/L - and if I did more I can't remember. :o) I also did another version which is darker, or at least not quite as red. I'm not sure what the original colors were but do know there are some fantastic sunsets in Hawaii! ![]() |
