Next we created folds using a tool included in our graphics application. I used the Distortion - Distorto tool in Painter IX. By using a dark blue color for the initial lines the differences in shading are differentiated. I don't know if this is a function of how I worked with the tool or if it's a function of the tool. Either way, I kind of like the effect. ![]() |

The next exercise was on mixing colors. I created a chalk painting of the Pittsburgh skyline, roughly, with a couple of the 29 (?) bridges. I also used a few of the blender tools including Diffuse and Just Add Water. ![]() |

After receiving comments on the above painting I went back and made adjustments. While I was at it I decided to re-do both of the bridges to lower their size as well as clean them up. I've kept the original above for comparitive purposes. ![]() |

I still need to work on my tonal painting - and that looks like fun! Thank you Hillary and Karen for another terrific lesson! Between this class, Painter and work I am getting a real workout! But I'm also loving every minute of it. :o) |
